McQuarrie co-wrote the screenplay for *The Final Reckoning* with Erik Jendresen. The film's plot involves retrieving the "Podkova" module from the sunken Russian submarine *Sevastopol*, a chase in biplanes, and a mid-air insertion of the Poison Pill into the Podkova. McQuarrie also appears in a cameo at the end of the film.
